The dancing action of this light is awesome. I received it just after a couple others and it is far better as far as brightness and realism. The solar panel is on top, so no problem aiming for best sun. I was actually expecting it to be a bit larger, but it works, and the brightness makes up for the size. I just replaced a 10' high post at the end of the driveway, and this light can be seen a long way off, and looks very cool. It is still low-light spring, but it still seems to go all night long. (remember those days?)PROS: This is powered by the mighty lithium 18650 battery. It stays charged and has never run low. Very bright and exceptional flame action.CONS: I've had to mess with it a WHOLE lot. But...I still adore it. Would but another...which I would certainly have to mess with also. :)UPDATE: After one fabulous night, the following night the light failed to turn on. After retrieving it from atop its 12' post, I found that inside one of the two wires soldered to the on/off switch had undone itself. Just a poor solder connection. I was able to easily repair this myself. Now it works perfectly again. It was interesting to see inside the unit, which was super basic. A battery, (18650 lithium, a great cell and easily replaceable) a switch, and a curled up 3x5 ribbon of led lights. Also...somehow a lot of moisture had gotten inside, and lithium cells hate that...so I figured it must be a poor seal around the solar panel...so I used Testors model glue to fill the gap around the panel. Will see soon if it stays dry. Overall I still love the light. Docking two stars for poor assembly quality.FURTHER UPDATE:Every night this light shines brightly...literally ALL night without fading. The battery never ran low. All this during an extended period of rain and overcast. I totally love it.ANOTHER INCIDENT:We just experienced 7 inches of rain in as many days. Lots of big wind too. Looked out and saw the light doing a slow strobe thing, and took it in the house to give it a checkup. Somehow it was full of water in the top section under the solar panel, and several spiders also crawled out. It looks like my glue sealant around the solar panel may have leaked, or perhaps it just the wind. (more likely leakage) I dried it all out and sealed the outside perimeter of the panel again, but now I used 100% silicone. The better choice. Lithium cells are allergic to water so I dried the cell and threw it into a powerful flashlight to drain the battery down a bit. It did well, and I believe the ultimate problem was water in the cheezy slide switch, which I sealed around too. All re-assembled, tested, and a final bit of sealant around the four tabs where the bottom clear section clicks into the top cover, hopefully this will limit spider access. We had another 3" of rain last night and no problems.UPDATE: Here we are in May now, and after several days of rain, the light has seriously failed to where I don't think I can fix it. Last night there was only a barely visible steady glow, the night before it was just dim. The battery had full voltage, actually overcharged to 4.5v and the unit had power at the switch. Despite my very best efforts some water still found its way in, but clearly it was not the battery that is at fault. I am going to order another brand. This light is so pretty and last all night , I plan to buy moreComes on a little before dusk & stays on through the night. Throws off quite a bit of light, but not overly bright. Looks so pretty sitting on a table on my patio. Would definitely recommendSuperFit my needs for a touch of atmosphere.Absolutely beautiful!! It seriously has the appearance of a fire inside the torch. Lights up the patio table area very well.Bought 4 3 worked bought a replacementI purchased this light thinking it would look great as a table light. I simply screwed it to a piece of 4x4 post left over from our deck railing. It ties in great with the rest of our deck.We only had this installed for about a week on a pedestal lamp post along our driveway and this light has already died. So disappointing after all the work I went through to remove our old pedestal light and mount this new one. The faux flame was pretty nice when it was working but it should last longer than one week! I won’t be spending money on another one of these!!These lights are suppose to be waterproof but the first little rain and they quit working, so i brought them inside and dried them off over the register and they worked again until another rain and quit again because they were wet inside.Unfortunately, they do not last! Two weeks and one has already stopped working! They look good when they work, but for the price, I am very disappointed! Now to try and contact Amazon for a replacement or refund!Update Sep 14 2020Amazon contacted me and I am in awe...they have agreed to refund me for the defective light! Within a minute, I received my return shipping tag! Wow, great customer service! So, I really like these little flickering lights, I will order a new one and see if I was just unfortunate with one out of two dying an early death :) lolThanks Amazon for quick customer service! Happy customer here!Update Nov 22 2020Here we go again, an other defective one! I received the replacement unit on nov 1st. This one lasted 21 days. Very very disappointing considering the price! Now to find a box and return again! I will call Amazon and see if they will take back both units! I want to change brands because these have serious quality control issues! Buyers, beware!Had ordered this before I read the reviews on this lantern and then tried to cancel but said it was to late to. Got it and it seemed to work nice and to what I wanted it for. Daughters marker. I put it over at the grave sight and then just went over to check on it and it had water in it and wasn't working. I had to modify it to fit into the existing glass casing from the original light, but did not modify the solar part which included the light tube and the outer case with the plastic windows. I sealed around that so no water should have got in and since it was for outside use, figured it to be okay. Anyway as stated the price wasn't expensive but should have lasted a lot longer and I know I can't return , so now go looking for another replacement. It would have bbe a great light for her marker otherwise. This light only worked for a week. We had a light rain and it stopped working. Was thinking of reordering it but the price has tripled definitely not worth the price.
